Wanted custom PCBs. Didn't want to mess with chemicals again. So, obviously, I built a miniature CNC mill. From scratch.
Construction. Frame from aluminium extrusion. Everything else milled from blocks of aluminium. XZ block needed a lot of machining to pretty tight tolerances. Didn't get many photos, sorry!
Electronics. Raspberry Pi 3 with CNC shield. 12V and 5V PSUs. Optoisolated limit switches. Mini HDMI monitor.

The round rails have too much flex, so doing my usual and over-engineering with industrial 15mm CNC precision rails and carriages.
Got more mods planned to increase work volume and make the machine more rigid. Also have a new spindle with more power and actually designed for milling. Probably the next project once I've finished off Squirt.
