Squirt

Want to explore the coast, don't want to swim. Submarine!!! (Well, ROV)

What I'm shooting for...
Rough test thruster designed from scratch. Uses a brushless outrunner intended for drones that I stripped and packed with grease. Very rapidly emptied the kitchen sink when I tested it.
Electronics rack. ODroid CM2 for the brains. Modified power line ethernet adapter for comms. Razor HD webcam, RPi pico for low level IO. 4 way drone motor control (need 2). 9 axis IMU. Using servos to test control firmware. White end plate is a very rough test print.
Pressure vessel. Thick walled PVC pipe, ends cleaned up on the CNC lathe. Had to print plugs to take a live center in the tailstock.
Rest of the structure. Lots of 3D prints - only black parts are final, the rest are test prints in cheap resin. M5 threaded rods pull it all together. Rear plate is really complex for all the motor connections, tether, pressure sensor, power cables and OLED status display. Front plate has an 8mm thick acrylic window.
Next up will be the battery tubes, and making sure the back plate seals properly with an O-ring. Also need to check the Pico can control the speed controller using the DShot protocol.
